About Curses

Have you ever wondered why things are so bad for some people and so good for others. Or why bad things keep popping up in your life. You are a Christian and God is your heavenly Father and he made the same promises to you that he made to everybody else. If things are not working then there has to be a reason. If we know God’s promises and they are not happening then we need to find out how the thief, the devil, has stolen and taken away what is rightfully ours. Many would say that curses are not real that a Christians can not be cursed  because they go to Galatians 3: 13 and it’s a wonderful verse but if you take it out of context you don’t have the truth only part of the truth. In Galatians 3:13 it says, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: therefore religious Christians will say that Christians can’t be cursed. But lets back up and take a look at the context, verses are put in by men that were doing the best they could to make the Bible so we could understand it. But let’s back up and take a look it says in verse 7

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, they are the children of Abraham.

8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

And that them we can see is either the law or faith

12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

now we can see how that fits in, there is a responsibility on our part

14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

So now we have it singled down if we are going to have the blessings of Abraham it comes through faith.

15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

Now we have got to recognize that even though we are Christians if we are not walking in faith we fall under the curse of the law. And I have never met anyone in my life that does not come up short on their faith sometimes. And I don’t care what many would say because faith bringeth forth the word of God. The promises come by faith. In Hebrews 11:6 it says

But without faith it is impossible to please him:  the only reason there is Satan is the God of this world and when we walk away from faith we walk out from underneath that umbrella of protection we have through Christ. So that is how Christians can be cursed.
